I suppose another posting won't kill me...

So, in case you haven't figured it out, I'm terrible at blogging. I just don't get it. I'm not good at journal writing either, so it's just something I'll have to work on. But don't get your hopes up, cause there's no guarantee that I will change any time soon.

This semester is off to a great start. I don't have a roommate, and my new suite mate and I get along. This is awesome after the horrible situation I ended up being in last semester. I love being able to lock my bedroom door at night and not worry about who is going to come in drunk in the middle of the night, or who they might bring with them.

Of course, my classes have taken a dramatic increase in difficulty. I suppose it wouldn't be so dramatic if I wasn't in the pre-med Bio 204 class (the teacher is the head of the Bio division and believes in making sure we are all completely prepared to get our own doctorates in biology) and if I had a calculus teacher who actually taught calculus as opposed to whatever it is he feels like rambling about. But I had a 4.0 last semester and so far I have A's in every class, so I'm hopeful for another perfect grades semester.

I still miss soooo many things about home in Cali, and if I had my way, I would just pack up and go home, but by this point, it seems ridiculous to quit when I've taken out so many student loans already. Jason is doing his best to help me through my ridiculous calculus class and keep my spirits up. I'm still trying to convince him to get a job here in Hawaii for next year. He's game for trying, but he doesn't seem very optimistic about getting a position. If he does, you can expect some sort of wedding this summer... probably in July, but if he finds out he has a job in Hawaii sooner, I'm all for speeding things up.
Valentine's Day wasn't what I wanted, but seeing as how Jason and I live in different states and different time zones... spending the day together was highly impractical. However, Jason did make sure I had beautiful flowers for Valentine's Day as well as a gift card to See's Candies. I sent him pictures of us when he came to visit me to Thanksgiving. (I posted most of them on facebook already.)

Of course, I have to plan for the possibility of not being married next fall, so I'm set up with my own bedroom in a 2 bedroom apartment next fall, with two of my freshman friends (who will be sophomores at that point) who are also studying forensic science as my suite mates. I'm excited to be living with people that I actually like and will get along with, but I would be even more excited to be living with Jason instead.

The only thing that really has me down about next fall, is that my best friend here in Hawaii will be spending the semester in Denmark. Don't get me wrong, I like my two friends that I will be living with next year, but they are 7 years younger than me, and sometimes, I can really tell. Alicia may be 4 years younger, but she is a senior and has a lot more life experience than these freshmen. I can actually talk to her about life, and she understands. Also, she is my one Mormon friend here at Chaminade (a Catholic university), so that will be sad.

On to happier notes.... I've been loosing weight! I actually don't know how much, since I don't have a scale, but my clothes are looser. I've been trying to watch what I eat and how much, and I've started a workout routine (with Alicia). MWF after class (10am) we head to the gym for a workout. I do half an hour of cardio (on the elliptical) and then we do another half an hour (or more) on strength training exercises. My latest run on the elliptical (on the weight loss setting) I was able to do 2.54 miles in 28 minutes. This is my best time yet. I have a friend (Beth, another Mormon who is a Chaminade alum) who is convincing me to go out running with her... eventually I will take her up on this option... eventually.

Well, on to finishing up what I need for tomorrow and then sleep.
